Lofty Lou’s Yarn Shop is a limited liability company (LLC) formed in 2015 by 26 women when the original Lou Andersen retired and sold the shop (we are now a group of 25 gals and 1 gent). Our group, fondly referred to as the Lofty Ladies, wanted to ensure that Placerville continued to have a thriving yarn and fiber arts shop. In 2016, the shop was relocated to 263 Main St, across from the Cary House Hotel, and although we miss the little house down the street, our business has never been better.
Lofty Lou’s Yarn Shop offers fine yarns and fibers at prices to fit anyone’s budget, all the needed tools for your fiber arts needs, and the largest selection of unique buttons on the western slop! We have knitting, crochet, weaving and spinning supplies, and strive to provide unique products from our region. We also offer a strong teaching program with knitting and crochet “universities” as well as spinning and felting and now weaving classes. As an active member of the Placerville community, we are open 7 days a week and we also open our doors every Thursday evening and host an open studio for people to gather and share their fiber projects.
