With nineteen different bagels, a variety of pastries, and coffee, Bagel Works offers unique and comforting breakfast and lunch selections. From the early risers heading to work in the dark to the tourists passing through Placerville en route to Tahoe, this is the place for locally roasted coffee and espresso, diverse breakfast sandwiches, and filling lunch options.
While the bacon and swiss is the most popular bagel option, others such as the jalapeño, garlic havarti, or pepper jack satisfy customers for both breakfast and lunch. Locals and tourists alike enjoy such menu items as the Signature Breakfast Sandwich with egg, meat, and cheese, the Full Lox with cream cheese, onion, cucumber, tomato, capers, and smoked salmon, or the Veggie Heaven with cream cheese, avocado, sprouts, tomato, cucumber, onions, and capers. All selections come on your choice of bagel. If a full meal isn’t desired, a bagel and cream cheese is always available.
Both indoor and outdoor seating give patrons direct access to historic Placerville. You can eat lunch on the patio while shopping Main Street or drop in for a quick coffee and bagel before heading to work. The atmosphere at Bagel Works is eclectic and relaxed.
Bagel Works has been a fixture in downtown Placerville since 1995. Josh and Kelly Cox took ownership in 2011. Being the quintessential mom and pop shop, the owners and their extended family manage and operate the business on a daily basis.
