“The Placerville Downtown Association (PDA) is a non-profit organization that serves to enhance and promote business on Historic Main Street through special events and activities that attract visitors to the historic downtown business district.”
Proceeds from PDA fundraising events go towards the promotion of numerous community events and activities that include the Antique and Craft Fairs, an Art & Wine Festival, Trick or Treat on Main Street, Festival of Lights, and many other events and holiday activities on Historic Main Street throughout the year.
The PDA is comprised of business entities on Main Street from (roughly) Highway 49 on the west to Cedar Ravine Street on the east (see map for the district area). Each business in that district is automatically a member of the PDA. From that group of businesses and organizations, a Board of Directors consisting of 16 people is elected (according to guidelines in the PDA Bylaws) to serve a two-year term. From that group, there is also an Executive Board chosen consisting of a President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary. In addition, there is a Marketing Director and Webmaster who serve the Board. See Staff and Board for more information.
