Placerville California’s Historic Main Street has wonderful shops, restaurants and lots of history! The Placerville Downtown Association (also known as the PDA) hosts and promotes events and activities that enhance visits to Historic Main Street.
Placerville was named after the placer deposits found in the river and creek beds around the town during the Gold Rush. So, not only did miners find gold in the rivers and creeks around town, but also it became an important supply center for the surrounding mining camps.
Not only does Historic Main Street have great businesses, it’s a great place to have a business! See the About pages to find out more about the Placerville Downtown Association.
In addition, Historic Main Street always has plenty of friendly local folks who will be glad to help you find your way around town or suggest a favorite place to eat or shop. Also, Main Street is near historic Highway 49, minutes from over 50 Apple Hill farms and ranches, and has great wineries nearby too!
